Bike Week are kindly providing the insurance for the Wokingham Bikeathon. Bike Week started in 1923 and is an annual event June 9th to 17th encouraging people to get on their bike.
A balance bike is a two-wheeled pedal-less bike that teaches kids as young as 18-months to balance on two wheels. After a brief learning period, toddlers and kids learn to ride, jump and coast on their bikes with no assistance from their parents.
As you start to prepare for the Wokingham Bikeathon you might be thinking about what healthy snacks you could take along with you on a ride.
Fruit and nuts make useful snacks. The fruit will provide fast releasing energy and compared to sweets it also has the benefits of vitamins and fibre. Nuts are a good source of protein and will keep you fuller for longer, providing slow energy release alongside the faster energy from the fruit.

Danny Butler, British and European Mountain Bike Time Trials champion is bringing his exciting demonstration team back to Cantley Park on 24th June.
As part of our contribution to reducing plastic waste, the Bikeathon committee is considering offering water for riders to fill their own bottles, rather than providing bottled water as we have done in the past. Read more

This year to celebrate the amount of people getting out on their bikes we are encouraging you to ‘Ride your own Bikeathon’! The current restrictions forced the tough decision to postpone the Wokingham Bikeathon to 2021, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get out on your bike and tackle the route(s)!
