Longer 50 Mile Route Confirmed

A new longer 50 mile route has now been confirmed for Wokingham Bikeathon 2023. The new route totals 51 miles and is on generally quiet roads with two climbs. Going out through Waltham St Lawrence, the route crosses the A4 at Charvil before crossing the Thames at Sonning. The route climbs through Playhatch before descending into Henley to cross the Thames again. Climbing Aston Lane to Crazies Hill, the route has the first drink stop at 26 miles. The route returns through White Waltham before heading out towards Warfield and then returning to the second drink stop in Hurst at 45 miles. The roads will not be closed, so riders will need to take usual care with traffic. At an average speed of 12 miles per hour, it will take about four and a half hours of riding plus any extra time you take at the drinks stops. The latest suggested start time is 9:00am to ensure the drink stops are open.
