Kidical Mass is a group ride led and marshalled by volunteers where everyone cycles the route together to create a fun and inclusive atmosphere.

The ride is for anyone who has a bike and a helmet and is suitable for all ages and abilities, and despite the name isn’t just for children! Anyone who is passionate about cycling, new to cycling, or wants to experience rides with others in a safe environment are welcome to come along and participate.

The route is 2.5 miles long and uses a mix of cycle paths and roads. It starts/ends at the Bikeathon event hub in Cantley Park and finishes by crossing the same finish line as the other routes, what a feeling! It will be fully led and marshalled so all you need to do is turn up and pedal.

Kidical Mass is free and there is no need to book.

Just go to the Kidical Mass tent by 10 am, on the day.  You will be given a ride briefing, and then you are off!

All types of bikes are welcome including, but not limited to: cargo bikes, tandems, recumbents, trikes, bikes with stabilisers, tag alongs, trailers, and bikes with child seats – pretty much anything!

Competent balance bike users are also welcome, but the course would not be suitable for those new to balance biking or who are less experience – instead why not bring the balance bike along to use at the event hub where there will be a skills obstacle course hosted by Sprockets.

We advise that riders are capable of riding at 4mph to allow the group the navigate the course safely.
